Fingerprints

I know I have had lots of bad things to say about fingerprints during this journey.... kind of ironic looking back that I had such frustrating experiences with getting clear fingerprints.... yet now, God's fingerprints could not be more clear! I've heard this song by Steven Curtis Chapman a ton but heard it this morning and it struck me in a whole new light.... and yes, tears followed. If you look at me this week or merely whisper the word adoption, I'll melt into a puddle of tears... it is one thing to look at your biological kids and see God's hand in creating them for you but let me tell you, God's sovereignty just jumped to a whole new level for me... to be able to so clearly see His fingerprints ALL OVER our little girl who is half a world a way is mind boggling and pure sweetness. So, for all of my "smingerprints" as I called them in an earlier post, so thankful for the clarity in HIS fingerprints... please tell me that you see and know that God is real and intimately involved in every detail of our lives.... I hope and pray if you don't believe that, that He may allow you to see His realness through this journey. And I'm sorry for all the teases.... I can't share info just yet but wanted to share this that all hit me this morning in the car... some of the lyrics are below:

That I can see the fingerprints of God
When I look at you
I can see the fingerprints of God
And I know it's true
You're a masterpiece that all creation
Quietly applauds
And you're covered with
The fingerprints of God

Never has there been and never again
Will there be another you
Fashioned by God's hand and perfectly planned
To be just who you are
And what He's been creating
Since the first beat of your heart
Is a living, breathing
Priceless work of art

Cause I can see the fingerprints of God
When I look at you
I can see the fingerprints of God
And I know it's true
You're a masterpiece that all creation
Quietly applauds
And you're covered with
The fingerprints of God

Oh Ru! We are soooo happy for you. TEars are filling my eyes right now. YOu worded so well what we also know about God's fingerprints all over our adopted children. I am getting tears now thinking about how God so clearly place Ford in our family for sp many specific known and unknown reasons. He has been our son since he was born in the hearts the moment Bethany Christian Service's social worker named Grace called us and told us, "A birthmother has chosen YOU, and your son was born yesterday!" We have know God made him for our family since the beginning, but your blog just worded so well what we know so clearly. It brings tears to my eyes. I gotta go listen to that song. WE are eager to hear more details about your daughter and those fingerprints and what lies ahead. We are praying and praising and love her already!
