I continue to be amazed at what a week of love can do. Last week she fell asleep banging her head with me beside her crying.... today, she fell asleep by simply closing her eyes. Granted the nap did not last long but I'm just so thankful to see some of her old behaviors passing away so quickly. I'm sure they will resurface at times but I believe she is beginning to trust us and feel safe... feel like she is home. (She may be a little confused in 5 days to find out that the hotel is not our home but we will deal with that then.) It is late here so I'll keep the commentary short... the day began at the Guangzhou Zoo and ended with a dinner cruise... with lots of smiles, tears, and laughs in-between. Enjoy the photos. The animal photos are more for my kiddos but you might like them as well...
Sign at the entrance of the zoo.... oh my.... Dinner Cruise-- she was upset here but she actually let Derek hold her for a while! Derek helped the staff scoop ice-cream.... I sent him to get me some... when I wondered why it was taking so long, I looked up there and saw why...
Playing in the room this afternoon:
Starting to get a little worried with all the photos....
Is it bad I love the crying photos? She looks so much like my Parker when she is doing the major meltdown! Looks like a lovely day, hope things continue to go in right direction!!
that last one is awesome. i'm dying for you to get home!!!!! praying for patience over the last few days. i know each day will seem a little longer than the one before :)
She is so beautiful. Only 4 more days til you get to come home. I will be at the airport with Emily. We'll try and get as many people there as we can so she can really freak out. Bless her heart, she won't know what to think. I am working on my autobiography now for Lifeline. It is truly painful. Way more info than Villa Hope. Maybe this time next year I'll get to go pick up my baby! Yea! Love you guys! Enjoy what little time you have left in China!
i'm sorry - i know it is NOT fun when she cries, and you can feel your shoulders rising up to your ears with the tension....but i think my favorite picture is the last one. one day you'll laugh at how cute she looks as she vents her frustration. she is just so adorable! it was terrific to skype with y'all today at MMM - andrew was bummed that he missed the "peep" at Mei Sims while she was sleeping. thanks (!!) for sharing some of your time and a slice of your China-life "live and 'in person'". we are praying for a safe trip home!
I used to love cooking and recipes.... 3 kids later, not so much time for that! This blog is now devoted to our journey to bring home our little girl and to going deeper with God in the process!
